Definately sounds like a warranty job to me... Either they have put the sub in an enclosure that's too large for it, and it's bottoming out, or there's a defect in the sub... I treat my 13TW5's with utter abuse, and they have to put up with more power than your 13TW5 is having to contend with...

Probably dragging this thread up from the depths a bit, but if anyone wants to know if this amp is good or not , I'll put my hand up and say I'm quite happy with mine. I've slightly overloaded my G-max amp with 2x 13TW5 subs (equalling 1.5 ohms) and I haven't had any problems at all with it...

The amp is putting about 50VRMS A/C to the voice coil at teh speaker terminals? That's about what I worked out the maximum RMS of the woofer should see with my 13TW5 setup, which is around the 650WRMS mark. I have to tone down my setup in summer a bit too... The temps inside my trunk get over...

I've got 2 13TW5's, and I'm using a JL G-MAX amp to run them, and it's doing just fine.. I have been trying to find the impedence curve (and the BL figure) for the 13TW5's for ages, but no one seems to know about them yet.... The A1800 will also run them fine too, but I have noticed that...

I went and got a JL G-MAX, which should see around the 1200WRMS mark to the subs (in parrallel)

Think I'll leave this bit alone and just hook up a RF360.2... Don't wanna stuff with it because the stereo controls heaps of other things as well...

Got a fair bit of work to do.. But hopefully soon this car will have a super lightweight install with 2000WRMS, 2 13" subs, all with a TOTAL install weight of just 65 kgs
