    Battery alternator cap? please help!!

Call them back and ask them if they are aware that 99% of all alternators now a days are internally regulated. This means that they don't just go blasting 200+amps all over the place the minute you turn the key. They "regulate" (catchy huh?) the amperage based on demand needed. That's what that...

Alternator and a decent AGM batt. Don't waste your money on an Optima or a cap.

    rangerboy101's build

Did you deaden the back wall or the roof yet? Back wall was a must in my Ranger, roof helped a ton as well. I don't know how you guys with the rear sliders (window) live with it. I put a solid window in my Ranger and I am about to do the same with my SuperDuty. No amount of foam tape will stop...

    Electrical problem? Help!

If your 120a alternator has 83k on it, I can promise you it is not doing 120a any longer. More/better batteries are only going to temporarily band aid the problem.

    Dumb things you have heard?

Every a$$-clown I come across has some story about blowing out windows. Then they sit in one of my trucks and tell me they have never felt anything even close to that... I reply, "really? I've NEVER broken a window". Then there is an akward silence as I try not to laugh. Close second is the "my...

    Clamp meter

Are you trying to measure max output? Because without a large load on it, you are only going to see what the demand load is. If you have a 200a alternator, it is not outputting 200a all the time. Unless it is an unregulated which is not a good idea.

Mono Amps: Some have A/B some have just A?

Oh, on the outputs. It is just for ease of wiring. Both + and both - are the same internally.

    Obsession with LOW OHM LOADS

Is it just a **** measuring competition to claim you have a bazillion watts or is the general consensus that you can really "hear" the difference between a (4ohm & 2 ohm load) or (1ohm to .5ohm)? Is the loss of sound quality and cooking your amp really worth it for daily use? Competition, I...

    need help with sub sound!!

A difference, yes. An audible difference... not likely. Sounds like your gain is not set/matched to your HU.

Mono Amps: Some have A/B some have just A?

I've never seen a 4/ch input on a Mono amp. The second set of RCA's are the pass through for daisy-chaining another amp.

Boundary Gain... it's not just for Blazers.

    Ehhh... BIG THREE help please!

Most alternators do not have a designated NEG on them. They are grounded to the block when you bolt them down. Find a convenient CLEAN spot on the block or accessories and ground there. You can use an alternator bolt if it makes your wire run easier.
