Talked to a Crutchfield rep, looks like I'm going to be running new wire. Also the speakers don't fit in my doors, even with the adapter they come with. Kinda frustrating considering their site said they fit. Guess I'll be drilling some holes as well.

Yeah so initially I did think that there were no existing wires in the doors but it turns out I just wasn't looking hard enough. Just had to do some digging with my hand and I found them. They were connected to female harnesses which I then connected to new male ones I got and into the speakers...

Huh? What does it matter what order I listed them in? 😂 Thanks for the opinion but I'm taking it with a pretty big grain of salt. Unless all those ratings and reviews are fake then you calling it garbage seems pretty extreme. Anyone else wanna chime in here? 

What do you mean by "in a 4th"?  Keep in mind it's a budget first-time build. Not shooting for the stars here. If you have a better recommendation in that price range, I'm all ears.

Thanks for the advice. I'm a bit wary of getting component speakers for my first time though. Would they cost more to install? You think its pretty important to get an amp to power the speakers even if I'm getting a powered sub to start with? 

Thanks for the reply. That might be a good way to go. Would you mind sharing an example of what a good deck and speakers would be? There's soo many different ones it's really hard to tell the difference for someone like me.
