I have a SIA 1250 amp. I set the gain with an oscilloscope using a -5db 40hz test track. Sometimes on certain bass heavy songs, the clipping light will blink, just for a split second. Is this perfectly acceptable or should I not see that light ever come on?

A Kicker LOC will do the job too. You can easily get 7 volts of clean output out of them. They are under $20 on Amazon right now. Those Scoche one's are known to be trash.

I tried the DI550.4 amplifier. It sounded like trash and clipped way before it's rated power. I set everything up with a DMM with oscilloscope and everything. Sent it back after trying to adjust it all day. Ended up installing a Kicker 360.4 in it's place and couldn't be happier. That experience...

UPDATE: I put them in today and put the cap in between the x over and the mid. It sounds great, IMO.

I have a set of components I'm installing, which came with a passive crossover. These will just be running off radio power. I want to filter some bass from the mids. The plan is just to install a simple bass blocker capacitor. My question is.... Do I put the bass blocker before the passive...
