Stock hu with a lot of bass attenuation

I'd like to think I have pretty good hearing, but I'm not sure 0.01% of the lci2 would be an issue, as 10x that much is known to be inaudible  It would be by far the highest quality LOC I've ever used. I just want to bring my sub back to life, because rt now it dies below ~40hz.

Stock hu with a lot of bass attenuation

🤨 The processor downstream is what would restore the low fq problem. The LC2i "Accubass" LOC, for example. I figured you might suggest that. I'm not entirely opposed to trying that, but my problem is I listen to satellite radio more than anything. I can stream it from my phone but I don't...

Stock hu with a lot of bass attenuation

I like to run stock hu. After spending several hours sorting out wiring, getting LOC, sub amp, sub up and running i discovered a LOT of low fq cut coming from the stock system. Is there an inexpensive bass processor or should I just go with an aftermarket hu? It's a pretty rare vehicle (09 Kia...

    2 2000 watt subwoofers vs 4 2000 watt subwoofer connected to 4000 watt amp0

Generally, if loudness is your goal, multiple subs will get you there the easiest, but random power ratings don't tell anyone much of anything about your equipment.

Aftermarket alternator with stock style battery ?

Big alts don't do anything "extra" unless the demand is there. Nothing to worry about.

    Is This Acceptable??

It adds resistance, and it's pointless. The reason the power wire is fused is to protect it from accidental contact with ground (about any metal in the car). When that happens the current spike blows the fuse almost immediately. On the ground side that is clearly not an issue as the ground...

    Length of battery cable matters?

I'm actually shocked that people aren't flipping out about this. With all the over the top things CA nerds will try for improvements that probably can't be heard anyway -- 10' of extra power wire for no good reason seems like something that would be blowing people's minds. You're dropping an...

    Is This Acceptable??

Either you misunderstood, or the writer had zero understanding of the most basic principles of dc circuits.

    Is This Acceptable??

Sounds fine, but ditch the fuse on the ground. Pointless and adds resistance in the power circuit.

High level input vs low level input

Are you sure it's not the other way around? When it's set to low - your gain's sensitivity range is 0.1v to 2.0v. On high it's 2v to 8v. So if your input signal is 1v, for example (wild guess), and your gain is at ~50% then on low range it SHOULD be set about where you'd expect it to be, and...

Q about setting gain on amp for doors

Anyone who takes sound quality somewhat seriously needs stereo sound from their main speakers. There are a lot of musical effects that are made possible by having independent left/right channels.

Time for a beefier alt, or do I need another battery?

It's not what I'm basing my argument on, but it is certainly 100% accurate. It provides the fundamentals, or basics as I originally stated. I didn't really disagree with your dissertation other than your original statement that the alt isn't powering the system. It is absolutely the primary...

    Recommended amp for Rockford r2d2-12

It's not a great match, primarily because the amp is a 4 channel. You can't combine all 4 channels to power the sub. However, you COULD bridge two channels to run the sub leaving the other two available to run a pair of full range speakers.

    Port Area

it would also need to double Box/port dims can always be massaged a bit, but if you have a sub that can move some air it will need room to breathe. High volume down near the tuning frequency can cause port noise if the port area is too small.

Help with understanding Head Unit specs

Power ratings in general are a very gray area, and the cheaper the equipment the more gray it is. RMS is all that matters. Quality brands generally rate equipment accurately. Cheap brands -- you get what you pay for, trust the price tag -- not the ratings. A quality speaker that's rated for...
