Go big or go BIG with DIRAC on DSP?

Appreciate it. I've gotten a lot of advice from some good people on here....and I've avoided some bad advice from some not so smart people on here. lol I think I'll try a few variations. Maybe the EQ first, see how it sounds, then maybe incorporate a DSP with as good a tune I can get and then...

Go big or go BIG with DIRAC on DSP?

Yes. I have an active 3-way front stage with sub. On the A pillars are Massive CT2 tweeters (will be upgrading those to Stevens' SA1s once I get the pods for the pillars built) running off a budget CT sounds AT-125.4. In door pods are PRV 5MR450-NDY and Stevens' MB8s running off a Wolfram...

Go big or go BIG with DIRAC on DSP?

I always thought about pre-EQs being used for OEM HUs which have built in EQ settings to drop bass below a certain point, or set certain freqs for the cabin so the DSP gets a flat response. Didn't think of doing the way you're talking about. Might be worth taking a gander. Perhaps a dumb...

Go big or go BIG with DIRAC on DSP?

I had an inexpensive Dayton DSP-408 for about a year and that famous ground loop finally crept up on me. Was never there and suddenly it was. Anyway, once I verified it's the DSP and not something wrong with my wiring I decided I didn't want to take a chance on another Dayton, figuring I'm just...

Getting my arse kicked! Any help?

Appreciate the input! I'll check out the calc site and see how it compares. I'm in the beginning stages of building the box. Unfortunately with something like this it's so custom (lots of changes were made to her truck) that I have to build a piece, measure for the next, cut, glue, measure, and...

Getting my arse kicked! Any help?

I don't know if I'm over thinking things, if I'm doing it wrong, or what, but I just can't seem to get the hang of figuring out a port. Normally I pay to have someone else design my boxes and then I'll build em, but my wife finally wanted a small enclosure in the back of her truck and since...

Blown midbass, time for an upgrade

I'm definitely wanting to keep the midbass, but I also need to get louder to keep up with the new subs. Went from 2 15" American Bass XFL to 2 18" Fi BTL-3s. I know it won't be that much louder, but these were barely able to keep up with the 15s. Are there certain models you might recommend on...

Blown midbass, time for an upgrade

It's been a while since I've been on here, but I did use the search feature trying to find some answers. I had two Crescendo 8" PWXs in my front stage for mid-bass. After a couple years of use I finally blew one of em. Since I'm upgrading my subs I figured it's time to upgrade these as well...

    Two amps or one?

Good point on rise....I always forget that at first. lol Not a fan of Brazillian amps, though...just a personal preference. Soooo many good amps out there. So much research to do again. lol

    Two amps or one?

My current subs are on the way out, so it's time to upgrade. Not sure on final sub selection, but it will likely be FI BTL-3 series. I currently have an FSD FZ2600D, which has dyno'd at 3600 at 14.4, so I know it has plenty of juice for a single sub. My question is should I get another...

    Good mid-bass and enclosure size

And you would suggest porting it? We go to all the trouble to seal our doors to increase midbass, but a sealed enclosure would be bad for the same?

    Good mid-bass and enclosure size

I'll pass that on to him. Thanks!

    Good mid-bass and enclosure size

@Jeffdachef You use the 6.5 PRV. Do you think the 8 will have enough midbass given that it'll be in its own enclosure, or should I have him go with a Crescendo PWX? Or, something else?

    Good mid-bass and enclosure size

That's what I suggested, but he wants something for when you open the back. Thinks it would be cool. It's his money and his car, so who am I to argue? I just want to do it right.

    Good mid-bass and enclosure size

I thought I had waived him off, but my friend wants to pursue building two small enclosures which can be turned towards his hatchback for parties and whatnot. Anyway, he wants it to be loud, sound good, and look great. The looks we can deal with in the design phase. Loud, I know. Sounds good, I...
