My coating on the car protects the paint from damage such as that. I do not need to wax my car at all, it shines like the sun from the Wetgloss.
Im saying the dawn pulls all waxes and coatings off bc its strong and if u dont apply wax or wetgloss back after it causes problems ..my buddy clayed his car then it rained that night ..was real sunny the next day and it was a pita to get the spots off

Nice avalon...dont be scared to wetsand and buff just dont get carried away ..use 2500-3k paper foam pad with a cpl compounds and stay away from edges...i kno ppl are scared az fvck to wetsand and buff but after a cpl thousand hours at it u get good lol

Why do you think you need to wetsand? I'd be against wet sanding if you don't have experience. Maybe practice on something you don't care about. People are scared because you can easily damage / sand through the clear coat. Unless you know what you're doing and have a paint gauge..leave the wet sanding to the professionals.

Wow! That looks good! I feel like a slacker now. I "detailed" mine last week. Products used: A pressure washer and some Dawn liquid. Oh, and a step ladder to get on top so I could pressure wash the interior out also....

and to get the fenders back to black...Rustoleum Satin Black spray paint! Came out great..

I guess thats why my wife never lets me touch the Armada or the Quest.....

All Jeep jokes aside, when I do detail the other vehicles I am a big fan of the Blackfire products. They are pretty expensive, but work great. The paint sealer is awesome once you work your way through the steps to get to that point.

I am trying to get my subie done.

Wash/2 bucket method

Clay Bar

IPA Solution wipe down

Meguiars Ultimate Compound using DA Polisher

IPA Solution wipe down

F11/2 coats

But everytime I get a day off it rains

Pointless post...

I assume by subie you mean Subaru. My niece used to call them Scooby Doo cars because she couldn't pronounce Subaru.

Finally got around to detailing the Forester today.

Wash, clay bar, full wipe down with Rustoleum Wax/Tar remover, paint correction using DA with Meguiars Ultimate Compound, and 2 coats of F11. Even F11'ed the wheels. See how it holds up. It's been pretty good on the Harley.
