So I had my sub stage disconnected for a few days and in that time I determined that I’m not really getting a lot of the lower end from my mid bass drivers in the rear doors. They’re ssa evil 6.5’s and they’re getting in the area of 150 watts each with plenty of head room to spare

Should I

a) give them more power (I recall when I increased my gain on the amp I could hear them begin to distort)

b) move them to my front as part of my active arrangement and put new drivers in the rear. If I do that I was contemplating between these two

Any opinions/in application feedback specific the above driver options

Thanks

throw the 6.5 sub idea out the door immediately. They play too low and when you hook up your actual sub, you'll literally be in cancellation hell, negative bass all around, would be an absolute disaster. You want actual midbass drivers that can play deep midbass like exodus anarchys or crescendo pwx.

8 ohms wont be getting much or any watts at all. Most people that say they have good results with the evils have 4 ohm versions and have a 4 channel amp dedicated bridged to them.  Even a bridged 4 channel to a pair of 8 ohm evils will just be pretty weak.  I'd just sell them in all honesty.

They’re 8 ohm versions but they’re  being run down to 4 ohm on the two rear channels bridged

waiiiiit a minute. I just remembered csstang has a pair of 4 ohm versions that he was going to put in for me. That might be first try.

I’ve tried it in 3 different vehicles and multiple locations. Rear deck is best for me. Unless it’s a midbass I don’t want anything in the rear...

The end result is, not the intention. I think OP got what I was saying. The Brits generally aren't as sensitive. A 500w sub amp does not...
