how to test MOST amplifier

I have no audio in my '03 Porsche 911. It has the factory audio components, which are MOST based.

The head unit powers up and seems to respond properly to button presses, but I have no audio. First thing I want to do is determine if the problem is with the head unit or amplifier.

Is there a way for somebody without any specialized tools (other than a multimeter) to see if the amplifier is working?

Do you have an amplifier? If yes check to see if Power/protect lights are lit, check fuses. If no then HU

It's a black box; I don't see any such lights that could be lit. The fuse is good.

Sounds like a factory amp which probably isnt that great anyhow.  May want to look into an Audison or Mosconi unit that will be a huge upgrade

I'm not looking to spend a bunch of money. I just want a working radio.

Is there any way to test it?

Use a dmm to check if the amp is out putting any voltage and if it’s getting any voltage.
