Hi, I just registered here after running into some questions before I start to replace the stock double din radio in my 2002 Chevy Malibu. I have read that since the car’s Bcm is somehow related to the stereo, that I can’t just swap out the radio for an aftermarket unit without running it through an attachment made by Metra or Scosche. But I am confused on which specific one I need. They vary greatly in price. I’m not looking for the most extravagant install, just want to swap out my radio for a touch screen unit, maybe with Apple CarPlay. No amp involved. Can anyone point me to the least expensive of these “attachments” that would allow me to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Ok. I checked PAC. Now I’m even more confused. There are many different interfaces shown for my car. How do I know which one I need?

That is the perfect spot to do that. OEM sub may interfere with the new one and cause cancellation.
