First would like to say I’m new here and getting back into audio. Used to be in caco and I’ve noticed a lot of the forums died. Hope this one hasn’t.
What parameters do I choose for a custom built subwoofer? I am having a Skar Audio ZVX 15 recone being built that will put it in line with Sundown Audio X V2 15. So I believe soft parts are what determines my parameters correct?
Now the design I want to attempt 4th order ported through ski hole in 1997 Nissan Maxima. Plans are purely musical not spl. Would like a good response from 30-60hz.
Dimensions of the main usable trunk area are as follows
43” between wheel wells, 18” from floor to rear deck(usable), 30” from rear to front that is usable at the 43” and 18” measurement. Removing 3” for double walls gives me 9.375 cubes before any displacement so think I’m good there. The ski hole it’s self would be 8.5”x9” and approximately 8.5 from ski hole to back of enclosure.
Trying to give you as much info as I can. I understand it’s common practice to do 1:3 ratio for these enclosures. Skar recommendations for zvx is 4.0cube after displacement. So would I have 4cubes on ported side and 1.35cube on sealed for a total of 5.35 cubes after displacement?
