I am running a single Power HX2 12", Brutus 1500 mono amp, 1ohm, with a 1 farad capacitor. With the system up loudly the lights will still dim and the bass seems to die off if I'm playing something with a drawn out hit. I'm curious if my capacitor has died (I thought it would leak when it died) or if I should actually go to 1, 2 or dual 4ga. This seems crazy to me, but I have a buddy running only 900rms watts @ 1.5ohm and he picked up 5db by running a second 4ga. power to the amp.. ?

Yeah... check this link out. It shows the power handling of that tweeter. I'd just match the power no matter if you use the crossovers or not...
