Active Crossover Question

I am looking for an active crossover so I can run a tri amp system. I thought it would be a 3 way but most don't have the outputs I need. Can someone help me in defining what I am looking for?

Set up I want:

Head unit

Crossover

3 amps

1 30 to 40 rms 4 channel for all the tweeters ( no passive crossover)

1 50 to 80 rms 4 channel for the mid range ( no passive crossover)

1 monoblock amp for sub.

Anyone else run a system like this? Does it sound better?

Thanks!

What's your experience with car audio? Can you install and tune a system this complicated? Making this sound better than a system using passive component speakers is a challenge, and a lot of people think they know how to do it but they're only scratching the surface.

@nutdawg

I already have the amps so it would be cheaper to by the crossover than a new 5 channel amp.

@trumpet

I would say mid level. I have installed all the wiring on my car. I usually have the speakers installed professionally but that is more for aesthetics of the car.

This is going into a 70 cadillac deville convertible. It has a lot of room and a lack of room makes the acoustics very difficult. I am having a lot of problems with keeping a balance between my Mids and tweeters. I feel if I ran them separately I could hav more control.

The professional way to do this is with a DSP. Not every shop is capable of that level of work and making it sound great, but it will give the best control over each speaker. I'm talking about JBL MS-8, Rockford 360.3, Audison Bitone and Bit ten, etc. Have you heard of these? A crossover alone isn't going to give you much to adjust.

Pretty much. It's just a nice kit. A solo rite Scarlett 2i2, XLR mic and a loop back cable are my next purchases so I can get accurate phase...

It's always leaned that direction. Not sure how cheap you can really get anything done these days. Deadening and custom mounting...
