Hey I want to get 2 12" and out of the models below which would hit the hardest. I know you guys are going to say get Sundown or DC or brands like that which I have looked into but I want to know from the list below which would hit the hardest on the proper RMS and proper ported box.

Alpine Type R

MTX 7500

Kicker CVX, or COMP Q

JL Audio W3 or W6

Any of them in a perfect box and perfect power should get you in the 140+ dbs range. Thing is the perfect box and install I dont see happening if you have to ask this question thats been asked hundreds of times by all the other newbies. A good installer/box builder can make almost any sub get loud. If you are just relying on the subwoofer driver build quality and power handling to brute force your way into being loud then theres no doubt the winning brand is ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................sundown/FI/DC/AA/IA/B2 subs.

But which of these do you think would be good if you rely on the driver? I was thinking the Kicker CVX or COMP Q then the Type R or JL W6
All of them are pretty fragile for extreme loudness use and abuse. I'd say type R would be the go to sub out of the bunch if you are forced to choose. However the type R didnt hold a candle to many other brands i've used in a direct swap.

I'd also lean toward the Type R out of that list. Then the W6. It just doesn't make sense to buy them. Whats a 12 inch of either of those cost? 400 bucks? While a Soundqubed HDS312 will run like 180 with a 3 inch coil and 1200 rms handling. Buy what you like I suppose but consider other options first.

Being those are mainstream brands your likely to pretty much waste $$ on something you can get either cheaper or equal value for your money going with an internet brand.

That being said asking which would hit the hardest is simply irrelevant. A lot depends on vehicle enclosure type how much power etc.

Is there a budget in mind? There's plenty of folks on this forum with a vast majority of brands that we all experiment with. After all it's car audio so we can pass on our exp to the next person.

I'd take the Morel Maximo 6 over anything on your list.. 169.99 or so from Crutchfield.
