Amp Mounting Location

I Have Two Ppi A600 Amplifiers That I Would Like To Mount

Under The Back Seats.i Was Just Wondering If The Heat That These Amps Produce Would Cause Any Problems With The Seat Foam Thats Barely Touching Them On Top.both Ends Of The Amps Have Alot Of Air Space For Cooling.any Help Out There I Would Really Appreciate It.

I've mounted my amp for my speakers under the passanger seat altho I have about a 3inch gap between the amp and the seat. Could you possible cut away some of the foam? I wouldn't suggest mounting the amp where something is touching the top of it.

You always want to keep as much air flow to amps as possible. The cooler they run, the more efficient they will be. And you want to keep as much of that airflow directed to wherever the heatsinks(ridges,usually on top of the amp) are located, as the heat sinks are designed to dissipate heat from inside the amp. So the cooler you keep the heat sinks, generally, the cooler your amp will be.

Regardless of my spiel, the only way to know for sure, is mount them where you want, crank it up for a while, and see if they cut off. ***tip(from experience). in case location is no good, leave some spare power, ground etc., so you can relocate without having to splice or purchase new wiring.
