Amp to sub box = ?

[T Ballgame]

I am wondering if mounting a sub amp to a 10" sub box will cause damage to the amp due to vibration?

Say a Jl Audio 250/1 mounted on a box with a JL 10W3v2 in it, or same size/quality combo?

It all depends on the type of amp and box. If you have the room to mount it in a different place do it, but if you dont you do not have much of a choice. I had my amps mounted to my box for years and did not cause any problems. But you know it all depends on how well the amp is put together.

The vibrations from the car are just as bad as the sub box if not worse. I would be more worried about having it all securely mounted than the box vibrating.

2 reasons not to mount the amp to the box. 1) If somone steals your box, they get your amp also. 2) theres a chance of it being damaged from vibrations. but ya your hole car is vibrationg anyway so, you should put like a foam pad or somthing under the amp to obsorb the vibrations no matter where it's mounted.
