Another quick speaker installation question!

Ok, I took out the factory speakers in my '90 F-150. I had to remove the top part of the door panel to get to them. I noticed that attached to the backside of the door panel was some soft foam-like substance, that I guess was supposed to improve sound or something. Well, the old speakers had a grill attached to them that kept the foam off of the speaker, but for the ones I just installed, the grill is too big to fit in the door.

So my question is, will the soft foam material HURT my speaker or LIMIT its production because parts of the surround are pushing against it?
