Best Recording Car Cameras???

Didn't see a forum for this topic, so I thought scrounge around the lounge since there seems to be some pretty knowledgeable folks here on car electronics...

OK, so with so many nutjobs out on the road these days, I might be interested in installing a camera in my truck, but if I'm going to do that I'd like something similar to the one being talked about the video which is odd cause the video has no links to buy this product.

I'd be interested in it being battery operated (so it's not draining on the vehicle's battery) which makes it easy to move from vehicle to vehicle.

And, I'd like for it to have night vision and parking mode so it'll be on the look out while the vehicles is parked... so, anybody got any suggestions on which camera I should consider?

I unfortunately have zero knowledege about these products but it is definitely a good topic to delve into. A sentry camera like on the Teslas would be great.

Yep, in addition to the camera running while one is driving.... having it running while the vehicle is parked would be kool as well.

Good subject, but unless you want to Go-Pro, it seems like there is just a bunch of cheap china clones out there.

Blackvue makes some good dashcams.

I have had it for 3 years now.

Rove R2-4k. It gives good features for the price.
