hi every one im new here

i just bought a pair of brand new vega 12d4's dual 4 ohm voice coil sub's

my ? is

can i put these in a small sealed box 1.3 ft3 per chamber to be exact

i have a 98 taurus sedan with limited trunk space

i found a sealed box on ebay that will fit perfectly in my ride

heres the specs

Two Separate Chambers

Precision Constructed with 5/8" MDF

Carpeted Box w/ Terminal Cups Measures 12" high by 28" wide by 12" deep (Top) and 17.75" deep (Bottom)

1.3 cubic feet per chamber

Fits most Hatchbacks and trunks

Weight: 32 lbs

heres the catch

The Vega Series subwoofers are designed to be used in bass-reflex

(vented) enclosures for optimum performance and long term reliability.

For best results with bass-reflex enclosures we recommend lining all

inside box walls with fiberglass or Dacron™ fiberfill of 1-inch thickness.

Always leave at least 4 inches of unobstructed clearance at both ends of

the port tube, between the inside walls of the enclosure and port entrance,

and between the port exit and the vehicle interior. For optimum

performance, the port should “play” into the listening area.

ive also read that putting the subs in an improper enclosure would void the warranty

i dont have the room for the recommended enclosure and i like the sealed sound alot better

i had a 15'' kove sub before in a smaller than recommended box and the wires from the speaker terminals to the voice coils kept breaking

i would solder them back together but after 10 mins of play they would break again

i do not want this to happen at all with my vegas

i will try to add a pic of the subs manual so you guys can see

i will be running these subs with 2 fosgate 750s amps

will the box i got work with the subs will it sound good

will i blow my subs ?

please help

your new friend
