Do i really need components?

I'm running 2 kicker l7 12's in a ported box w/ a bx 1500d and i need speakers to work with this.i would prefer to have good SQ speakers for cheap.nothing amazing.what do you think would work,im looking at prices around the infinity kappa perfect 6.1's.about 550$... Also,do i really need component speakers if i want good SQ?could i just run 2 tweeters and 2 3way 6x9's?What would sound better-the components or the 2 tweets and 6x9's? thanks

i have heard the components but it was in friends car and it wasnt for long so i did not get the full effect of the system.i cant locate a store near me w/ the components setup.What did you mean the tweeter was a little harsh?bad sq or just high noise?

In my experience comps sound way better than coaxes. Not that there aren't any good sounding coaxes out there because there are. But 99% of the time comps are the best way to go. Not to knock infinity or anything but I think you can do alot better for alot less money than the perfects.

What other component systems would you recomend for good sq?im open to anything so if you could recommend a few companys id appreciate it.i still have yet to buy the speakers so any components that sound good tell me and ill go have a listen.thanks

In my opinion, the Perfect's need a little bit of work...

I do like the silk dome tweeter on the Kickers, however.

thanks for the help.i went and checked out the perfect's and also the alpine type r's and the type r's sounded better for what i have to run the speakers.since i dont have a seperate amp to run the speakers and im running them off an old alpine the type r's sounded very nice compared to the infinity's.The perfects started to distort quicker than the type r's.i have yet to look at the resolution's and the Focal access and poly line's.thanks for all the help.

iv decided to go with the alpine type r's 6.5" components and im going to be runnign them off a rf 200s i think.the amp still varies.it depends what is going to give it 50 watts rms.anyway thanks for all the help and thanks steve for the recommendation.i appretiate it alot.

i bought the alpine type r's and a rf 100.2 and its gonna dridge to 50x2 @ 2ohms and ill just sacrifice the balance for it.thanks again for all the help with this stuff.if it wasnt for the suggestions id end up with the infinity kappas wich midbass isnt as good as the type r's..at least to me,and thats what i want.so thanks again.
