dvc wiring question

You mean dual 4ohm. The answer is no. A dual 4 ohm sub can be wired in parallel @2ohms or series @8ohms. The benifits of dvc speakers are scene when you have multipe speakers being connected to one amplifier. 2 dual 4ohm speakers can be wired to achive a 4ohm load. Also 3 dual 6ohm speakers could be wired to get a 4ohm load. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif . Why do you ask?

i was asking cause i want to bridge my sub to to a 4 channel amp, but plan on upgrading to a mono sub amp when money permits.Dont want to get two different subs.

Ok I just ordered a DVC 4ohm sub. Now I am going to order a mono amp that puts out 300x1rms @ 4ohms and 420x1rms @2ohms. What you guys are saying is that I can't wire a DVC sub to see the 300rms @ 4ohms? So with a mono amp I need to go with a SVC then? Will it not be as loud or clear, etc? Thanks alot. Oh and my sub is 350rms/650max.

Ryde-Just wire your sub's coils in parallel and give the amp a 2 ohm load. If you are concerned with overpowering the sub, turn the gain down a bit to limit the power. That will also keep you from clipping the amp at high volumes and further help to protect your sub.

Ok, I guess thats what I'll be doing. Thanks.

Another question about wiring. I have some 6.5s that apparently handle 40watts rms a piece( I thought they were going to be 80 a piece, not total). I have an amp that puts out 75x4rms @ 4 ohms. Should I run the 75 to each 6.5 or should I try and split one channel to both subs? Thanks alot.

If the amp puts out 420watts@2ohms then a dual 4ohm sub wired in parrallel is best.

My brain hurts just looking at those diagrams. It's late so if anyone sees a problem with either of those, please feel free to chime in!

Sure, 600 volts, yep. If you’re trying to launch the subwoofer cones to the moon! And, that’s if they don’t just vaporize first!

Before I started to cut wiring, I would just leave one of the connectors unplugged. Based on your 3rd image, it looks like the wiring was spliced...
