Just a little info for those that may need to replace or want to upgrade your battery. If you have ever tried to find a better battery for your vehicle and has to settle for the same oll Delco or "insert brand x" normal battery because of the odd size most Honda and Acura vehicles require. Stinger Electronics has just released the SPV35 battery specifically for our types of vehicles. This may sound like an advertisment, and it is in a way, but I am personally excited for the fact that I work for Stinger and lobbied heavily for them to address the situation that I myself have had to battle. This is a great option when you have an upgraded sound system or you just want to give your factory alternator an easier load then a typical lead acid battery.

You can visit their website at http://www.stingerelectronics.com or to purchase one http://www.autosoundgear.com for more specifications and some pictures.

I hope I did not offend anyone by creating this post.

Optima just released a battery as well, it's in the new "mobile entertainment"...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Great thread ... I know many people have been asking for specific batteries for their Honda's and Acura's lately.

Spoon Sports has Honda / Acura specific battery ... though it is way to expensive.

Not bad...but why only make a battery for certain cars? Smaller batteries should be in everycar...meaning later on we could have like 42volt batteries the size of 12volts right now. That way all car companies are happy.

That's cool about the Optima, but spiral cell is old technology. The flat plate cells were developed by the same company that designed the Optima. When the flat plate design show to be superior they sold the Optima name and design to Johnson controls. Don't get me wrong, the Optima is very much better than a normal battery. But the the Stinger is the cutting edge.

In response to the 42 volt systems. They will be coming soon, but the manufactures keep putting off the release dates and they can't even decide on a standard battery post yet@! The first generations will run both 12 and 42 volt systems at the same time with a combination starter/alternator/generator . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Test Results Stinger

In our first test, the SPB 1000 produced a constant 350 watts for about 50 minutes before its voltage dropped below 10.5 V. This gives us 580 watt-minutes per pound or 9.6 watt-hours per pound. In our second test, the SPB 1000 produced a maximum of 337 amps at 10.5 V, which gives us a specification of 11.05 amps per pound.

Test 1 (350 Watts): 50.5 min. (0.84 Hour)

Watt-Min./Pound: 1.656 x 350 = 580

Watt-Hours/Pound: .0275 x 350 = 9.6

Test 2 (Amps @ 10.5 V): 337 amps

Amps/Pound: 337/30.5 = 11.05

Weight: 30.5 lbs

Test Results Optima

In our first test, the Yellow Top produced a constant 350 watts for about an hour before its voltage dropped below 10.5 V. This equates to 476 watt-minutes per pound, or 7.9 watt-hours per pound. In our second test, the Yellow Top produced a maximum of 457 amps at 10.5 V, which gives us a specification of 10.27 amps per pound.

Test 1 (350 Watts): 60.5 min. (1.01 Hour)

Watt-Min./Pound: 1.36 x 350 =476

Watt-Hours/Pound: .0227 x 350 = 7.9

Test 2 (Amps @ 10.5 V): 457 amps

Amps/Pound: 475/44.5 = 10.27

Weight: 44.5 lbs.

FYI.... Optima's are better than Stringer..... they will last longer and are ultimately the best battery

test results tell the real story.....make your own conclusions. More DB drag winners use Stinger batteries than any other.

And there not given away either!!
