Importance of the ground

Just wondering how important the ground you have for your amps is? Because I think it was tsunami or stinger that has a new ground holder that gives you a greater amount of area the ground is covering. Also how important is that power and ground on the alt? Should you replace them if you replace the alt?

YEeeesss....

You have to have adaquate positve and negative cables for a complete circuit...

Your current has to make a round trip..

Hopefully that makes sense... I rattle on...
