Just ordered a Shiva, need help with amp choice…please

I just ordered an Adire Shiva sub I’m going to drop it in a 1.5 cubic foot sealed enclosure. What I need now is an amp, and I really don’t want to spend more than $160. Here are the amps I’m considering:

SOUNDSTREAM RUBICON RUB3002

DEI Viper 400.2

Hifonics NX400

PG Tantrum 300.2

US Acoustics USX2100

I’m leaning towards getting the soundstream rubicon, I’ve heard good things about it and I can get it for around $150 shipped. Also, how would the soundstream compare to Avionixx 400.2, which is the amp I really want to get but is out of my price range. Please give me give me your input, thanks

Well the rubicon is a good choice, but go to http://www.millionbuy.com, its 130 there, I would recomend spending hte extra 20 bucks and getting the 500 though. It may not necessarily need the power, but it won't have a problem with it.

why not get a jbl 600.1?

isn't it 300.1 @4ohms which willl be good enough for 1 shiva then when u add ur 2nd u'll have 300 persub..

remember though - go sealed w/the jbl amp

Well he is going sealed, but I wouldn't let an amp stop me from porting a sub just because it doesn't have an SSF. You can buy external ones.

So you guys think the JBL is a better amp than any of ones that I mentioned above.

I personally don't. If you want to hear negative things about the JBL's talk to Zane, he's had nothing but trouble with his. I don't think they are bad amps, just definetly budget amps. The soundstreams are better amps IMO, though not quite as good as they used to be. They are about 15-20% underrated most likely.

I'd get the most power you can for the money. If its too much just use your ear and keep the headroom.
