kicker zx 1000.1 confusion what does the certified power sheet mean

i recently bought a kicker zx1000.1 amp.

the certified power sheet states that " total maximumpower output (watts) 1311".

i always thought that RMS is about half of the total power of an amp. i assumed that max power for this amp would be 2000

this is supposed to be a 1000 rms @ 2ohm amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

what does this mean for the 500 rms @ 4ohm.

i would like to know what is my amp really putting out? how much is this amp putting out at 4 OHM? how high is this amp?

im running a huge 0 gauge power wire [and ground] for this amp and its looking like i made a mistake with this amp. the JL audio G-MAX runs higher rms with only a 4 gauge wire

kickers dont rate their amps like little bittches.

it will put out 1311 RMS. not max watt shiitt.

yeah thats rms wattage,

only crappy stuff now adays comes with a "max power" labled on something.

1000 rms is what the amp is rated at @2 ohms. The 1311 watts is what Kicker tested the amp at @ 14.4 volts.

Kicker amps put out the power they say, plus some as you've seen. Its a 1000.1 so youd expect 1000 watts, but it will actually put out the 1300 RMS not max that the birth sheet states.

Using 0 gauge is good for 1000+ watts, its always better to be safe then sorry. As for @ 4Ohms, I would think it would do around 650-750 watts.
