MP3 folders & Alpine 7893R (mp3)?

have anyone have the same experience as I have.

Alpine always recognize folders with mp3 in this way ->

Root is always folder number 1.

So when I have nothing in root, just have folders, my Alpine shows for a bit folder 1, and then jupms to folder 2.

I dont like that because I have let's say mp3 cd like this.

CD_MP3

Bob Marley (folder with mp3's)

Travis (folder with mp3's)

Fugees (folder with mp3's)

Then Alpine show me that I my first album Marley is

FOLDER 2, FILE 1, 2 etc...

Travis FOLDER3

and Fugees FOLDER4.

I don't want that. I don't want to have nothing in root!!! If i put some songs in root, there it is FOLDER1 with all song in root, ****!!!

If you create this.

CD_MP3

TheBestOfBobMarley (folder)

CD1 (folder with mp3's)

CD2 (folder with mp3's)

Then I get this

FOLDER1 (nothing, show for awhile, and then jump to FOLDER2, FOLDER2 nothing (dir TheBestOfBobMarley), then jump to FOLDER3 (bobMarley CD1). and FOLDER4 (BobMarley CD2). **** AGAIN.

I have only two folders wtith mp3's on CD but **** I get 4.

Do you understand me what I don't like?

Please help if there is any solution for that. Thanks.

well the 7893 doesn't play mp3 cd's

you might be thinking of the 7894 or the 7995

here is a pic of my latest mp3 cd

all the songs in "1" by the cd icon show up as folder 1

the first folder in the picture, called "2" shows up as folder 2

and "3" shows up as folder 3

Yes it does, it support mp3 and CD-text also.

there is difrences between the american model 7893 which can not read mp3 and the europ' model , that can read mp3.

Tell me about it. I bought the 7893 because the Alpine site said it did read MP3's, and yes I did look at the Amercian page...or atleast I went off the North Amercian link on the Alpine website, opened up the instructions, then put them back in the box and called and got a RMA code and mail it back out. Now its back to the drawing board for what HU I am getting.
