i currently have a pair of 5.25 cdt components but i do not have as much midrange as i would like. the bigest components i could fit was 5.25 and i can't run them that hard because the cone will then start hitting the factory grill and it will be too much of a hassle to cut out the grill and put in a new one nor do i have enough room for kicks. my question is if i got some 6.5's or 7 inch crystal midbass drivers put them in with my 6x9's and run them off my head unit will that give me enough bass? i have a us acoustics 4065 powering the components and dash speakers. could i run too channels at 2 ohms and the other 2 at 4 ohms? say i run the components and midbass speakers off the 3/4 channels will that work? and also should i build a small box for the midbass drivers instead of installing them in the rear deck? sorry about the long post but i thought i would get all my questions wrapped up into one post.

If you're gonna put subs in the back, it doesn't make any sense to modify your rear speakers. You won't hear them.

Basically you want better midbass but you're not willing to improve your install. You get nutin' for nutin'. You might try a different 5.25 that has better clearance, but I dunno if you'll get better midbass than the CDT's are capable of.

i modified the door to where i have enough clearance. originally the door had 4x6 inch speakers and i have done as best i can do. i see no possible way of adding 6.5's. after i gave it some more clearance they do sound better but i think i might have been expecting to much from 5.25's. i'm willing to improve the install there is absolutely no more room to fit in a 6.5 and if i made kicks my kickpanel is carpeted and is only a couple inches long and i would have to put them in on an angle but it would get caught under the emergency brake and brake pedal and plus i don't know how to fiberglass. i figured the subs would drown out the midbass in the rear. i think i'll wait for my subs to arrive and hook them up and see if i still need more midbass.

i figured out my problem and i really feel like an ass now. the + and - on the amp were switched plus i had my headunit faded to the opposite channels of the components but i have my rca's backwards so i have to fade the other way. well anyways they sound great now.

At full power, you will be drawing about 450 amps. However, I doubt you will be pushing your system that hard. So, that being said, I would use...
