plexiglass sub mounting

im attempting to create two boxes out of mdf, 1/2 ". I have created all of them except the face. I want to make the face out of plexiglass, but i dont know how it will do. Is it better to have the thick 1/2" hobby type or the tough lexan xl, even though it is thinner, like 1/8" thick? help me out yall.

Should have ran a search, I have had this same thread a while back.

1/8" is DEF pushing it. atleast 1/2

i have a 19" * 11.5" face... my sub only has 300 rms though...should i stack the lexan on the hobby stuff? lik a double layer type? or what? its going to be in the bed of my truck so the lexan will have the uv protection
