Pros and Cons of 18 Volt batteries

yeah, ur stock electrical system is not made to handl 18v. First, ur alternator charges @ 14.4v, second the stock wiring and all is made for 12-14v, third all stock electronics are made for 12-14v. 18v should be charged by auxillary 18v alternator, and should only be used to power things that can handle it aka...modded amps, and **** like that. U sure ur not talking 16v...b/c most modded amps still will only take like 17v. But yeah, not a good idea. peace

yeah i thought it would fry my electrical system.. didnt know i would need a 18 volt alt...

my alt only puts out 13.5 vols.. i was wandeering if i got an 18 volt battery if it would help any.. especially w/ voltage drop... my votage display inside my car drops all the way down to 11.4 on hard bass drops....

I agree with the brightness thing. I have mine set to black out in 5 seconds, lol. Never noticed the crossover issue since my dsp handles...

Ill be wiring my next one up at the amps battery bank area and run it to the dash to keep an eye on it
