my friend is going to attempt to make a snail shell box for one 12"xxx he needs to know what the dimensons of the main chanber and port would be?..i have no expirance with snaill shell..soo i dunno anything about it

Those have got to be one of the hardest boxes to make! It's gotta be up there with a bandpass. A SS is to be designed only for the sub that is being used. I doubt anyone could actually help you besides P4S and the wouldn't even attempt to tell you anything except to buy one of theirs. You can try this one: http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=47949 but you would have to do some serious playing around with the deminsions in order for it to sound good! I hope this in someway helps you out?

Learn all you can about TL boxes. Then, apply that knowledge to the design and make sure the first backboard is an angled piece.

I heard few people talking about it, and they said something about the backboard being 2" away from the magnet. And tuning is 60Hz and 35Hz.. 60Hz in the first chamber.
