Hi, This would be my 1st sub and amp in car
Is there anything wrong with my setup or i am asking for too much bass on low budget 290rms?
Does trunk in sedan block a lot of bass ?
Do i need to move my sub position ?
is .75 inch layer of fibreglas on all sides of enclosure and .25 inch on top of it synthetic wool(came with enclosure) too much damping ?
my car sub project started on low budget, factory headunit and speakers
Xm1s amp $80$ amazon (running on high level in) 290rms 4ohm
kicker kit 8 AWG $25 amazon
Sousche enclosure $30 at Wallmart 1.25cubic feet
Sousche grill 8$ ebay
fibreglas home depo 5$
$117+15$ installation and tips to a local shop - they fed rear left 1 channel line level into amp
Total 280$
then i got a 70$ pioneer sub on budget but ended up returning it and getting the JL 12W3v3 4ohm 180$

It sounds really nice and i love it. Now the sub is at the back of the sedan in trunk and I was expecting a little more bass, a little more boom. Infact i have a friend who had kicker 250rms amp with Jl 10 inch W1 and he gets more boomy bass than my 12 inch, this could also be because he has 6inch 40rms Jl coax in doors or because he has an SUV and bass is not blocked by trunk space.
