Sound deadening????

http://www.mcmastercarr.com

use the search field for 'high temp mastic'. You will get an entire page of their catalogue (they are an industrial supply company) devoted to deadening materials of various sorts. Notice the viscoelastic asphalt sheets they sell, its -identical- to dynamat (as in made at the same place, even the plastic film backing is the same) and a fraction of the price.

You want deadening mat'l cheap, you want to check that link.

You have the link, all's I see is stuff that's 20 a ft?

Look lower on the page, the stuff at the top is the higher priced stuff...

3-Ply Aluminum 0.015" 24" x 48" 0.21 -65° to +250°F 0.4 Silver 9709T25 $20.16

Flame Resistant Aluminum Face 0.041" 27" x 48" 0.14 0° to +160°F 0.4 Silver 9709T24 60.81

Viscoelastic Asphalt 0.050" 24" x 54" 0.13 -20° to +180°F 0.4 Black 9709T26 22.50

Polymeric Mastic 0.070" 32" x 54" 0.10 -30° to +300°F 0.7 Black 9709T19 14.62

Mastic 0.045" 39" x 40" 0.04 -20° to +160°F 0.2 Black 9709T11 17.94

Chemical-Resistant Thermoplastic 0.125" 48" x 54" 0.32 -32° to +125°F 1.1 Blue 9709T27 153.24

The viscoelastic asphalt is 22.50 for 2'x4-1/2' piece. That's the same as dynamat for much less $. The alum backed is more, but try looking at the regular retail for alum backed deampener, its much higher.

The brush on/spray on is almost $70 for 5gallons. I havent tried this stuff yet, and $70 isnt cheap, but other spray on dampeners (not including undercoating, its not nearly as good) such as noise killer are much higher than that.

Whats up with second skin?

They have doubled the prices on there stuff. I'm glad I got my stuff from them before they decided to raise there prices. They cost just as much as dynomat now.

I checked out http://www.fatmat.com, they have really good prices but how do they compare to dynomat or second skin?

Mostly all the same stuff. Some sticks better, and some smells really bad and will peel off in the extreme heat.

As for Second Skin, e-mail the link given on the site or PM ifandorbuts and he'll do you right.

Yeah, Rick is a cool guy and he sells a solid product. I used raamat in my car, 2 rolls just for my trunk.

RAAMMAT!!!!

Rick is a very cool guy and will do you right. His 060 material sticks like stink on dogshit and it conforms to shape without heat guns or standing on your head. A superb product sold by a standup Dude.

I am extremely tempted to buy that 5 gallon liquid dampener. eD's stuff is over 300 for the same size and fatmat's liquid damp is right around the same as eD stuff as well. Incredible price if that dampener actually works.
