Stereo rapidly changes through presets on its own

I put my pioneer avhp1400dvd into my new truck from my mustang.. didn't previously have any issues.

Installation went smooth and started up fine, however when in Radio source it will rapidly scan (to the left) through all of the presets as if the left button was being depressed very fast (holding will scan through individual channels)

Hitting the home button for the menu to pop up doesn't work either, the home menu will display only for as long as I'm holding it.

When using CD as a source, it doesn't have any of these issues except for the home button not working... could there be some wiring fault causing this?
