Tapping speaker wire verses T harness for sub amp?

Are there any noticeable benefits with going with a T harness verses using something like Posi Tap to tap into the speaker wires for high-level input for a subwoofer amp?
T-taps wiggle loose and give static when they do. Posi-taps are too fancy.
I just peel a bit with a wire stripper and wrap the splice on that exposed section. Then I fold (not wrap) an inch of painter's tape over it.

Nice choice of drivers. Don't care for the white enclosure, but for a prototype, not bad looking.
