I went and listened to a type r 12"at a local shop and liked it the best out of all that they had. I can get a pair of these for 200 plus shipping. But i am also lookin but i am also looking at a pair of rockford hx2's 2212 for about the asme price so i would like to know what is best of these two for an even mix of sq/spl and if there in another sub around that price that would be as good or better. the subs have to be either 8ohm dual4 ohm or two ohm any suggestions would be grat.oh and waht about the infinity kappa 120.3 DVC. thanks.

2 for 200 is a pretty good price i juss bought a pair a few weeks ago they sound great but i was disapointed with the spl and what other people say type-rs are more of sq sub but imo i would say its about a 50/50 spl/sq but i am running a sealed so if u go ported it'll prolly pound alot more

The 10" punch HX2s paired with a 800.2 Rockford amp on an MDF sealed enclosure is a f00kin bad a55. If I had the choice to go back, I would. I went from 2 10" Punch HX2s on a sealed MDF enclosure with a 800.2 Rockford amp to a 12"W7 with a 500/1 amp on that JL pro-wedge box, and it is a f00kin regret. I can not be sure about those 12" Punch HX2s though, I have only experienced the 10"s. Those RF 10s were hittin high notes so f00king clean and accurate. When I am X'd out, we blaze Trance music with fast beats, and it doesn't skip a note. On the low-low end however (Juvenille's "In My Life"), the W7 is a bit louder and deeper. Play Yin Yang Twins "Salt Shaka," those Punch HX2s will hit atleast 130db even when underpowered by half! F00k these W7s, I hope Nick sends my Mag really soon.

I understand your needs mang, go with a 10" and a sealed enclosure. Trust me it is what you are looking for. The Type Rs are a bit weak though. When that adrenaline hits and you want that tigh TIGHT LOUD pound, I guarantee that you will think of an upgrade again (if you take the type Rs).
