Hey fellas. What's going on?

Alright, well the time has come that I have decided I need to move forward (at least a little bit) from my first system.

Currently

1 2005 Dual 4 Ohm 12" Kicker CVR

2.0cf net tuned to 34hz

BX1000D

Now it gets pretty loud and sounds good (at least to me - cmon now, its my first system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif )

Anyway, I feel like I need something more. Like I said, the CVR sounds pretty good to me, so I guess SQ is not a big deal to me. I just want to be louder.

I was thinking about picking up another Dual 4 Ohm CVR and running my amp at 1 ohm, giving each sub around 400-500 watts. I have been thinking a little bit more and have decided that I can spend up to $150 on a sub or subs or whatever.

So my question to all of you is, what would be the best thing for me to do with my $150? Any sub or pair of subs that I could get for that price (new/used/whatever) that would be louder and still sound at least as good?

Feel free to suggest anything.

yeah, do that and you'll be fine, that would be a good upgrade from where you're at.

I would not do that on that small amount of power... I would just get a second CVR, throw them in a sufficient sized ported box, and jam on...

Yup. And it would be less hassle for you. To get the L7, or any other sub for that matter, you are going to need to sell your current sub... I think that two 12" CVR's will do you nicely....

I had 2 12'' CVRs ported running off of 750rms total and they flat out slammed for what they cost. Add another CVR.

I agree with the dual 12's thing. Have a nice ported enclosure made up and it will sound great.

L7's are great but every dick and harry on the block has them anymore. Good luck.

Once you hear something that sounds better then you wont want anything less. Anyway, get another CVR its the best choice you can do if you want to save money and get louder. Oh, and at 1 ohm your amp will be running at around 600 watts. Its overrated, your voltage, and impedance spikes.

They aren't that overrated. Around 14v, he should bet getting around 800w out of that brutus. I can't find that picture of that sheet anywhere, but it said 1350w or something at 14.4v for the bx1500d.

Yep, mind was benched at 1390 from the bx1500D. So the bx1000d will be doing around 900 - what I said before. His amp will be putting out about 600 watts during music.

A few quick notes:

1. I cant fit a 15 in my trunk unless it is firing upwards

2. This is just going to be a daily driver not a comp car

So I guess it seems that my best bet is to keep trying to find another CVR.

Is my amp really only going to be sending out around 600 watts? I knew it was overated but I was hoping for around 800. Will the 2 CVRs be alright off of only 300 each?

Wrong. Depends on the vehicle, and electrical upgrades.

Most stock electrical systems WONT drop under 13v off 1000w(900w) from a class D.
