what should i do

I am going to buy 2 type 2 12'' alpine subs in the next couple of weeks with a new head unit and its an alpine cda-9833, but can somebody give me a good idea on an amp i should get to run this? i want to go with all alpine. thanks

There are a bunch of amps that would treat you well. I personally would give them 600-1200 RMS for 2. Look in the classifieds or on ebay. A JBL 1200.1 or 600.1 would treat you well and there are many many other amps as well.

Also, if they are dual 2 ohm, or dual 4 ohm makes a difference. Dual 2's can be run at 1/2 ohm or 2 ohm and dual 4's can be run at 1 or 4 ohms.

I think that amp is a tad pricey. It retails for about the same price as an Xtant 1001 and is NO way shape or form the same calibur of amp. I'd consider shivas over type r's though ANY DAY OF THE WEEK

totally agree with you, but he did ask for an alpine specific amp...

for example im gettin only mtx amps, and there is prob better ones out for the price but ijus want the speaker n sub amp to match i guess

Sorry man, I missed that sentence in his first post. I've never gone with all one brand on anything including home stereo or computer. Oh well, to each his own.
