well a really good one that is cordless is the escort solo s2. on ebay you can find it for 200 or so.

I just got an insane deal on an Escort 8500 which is considered to be 1 of the best if not the best.

I got it for $120, and it normally $300 from escort. It is $235 on ebay.

If I wasn't getting a killer deal on that, and I had to check out other detectors, I would look into Bel also.

I couldn't agree more. That being said, I thought that at the price, picking up

the escort 8500 made sense. My commute to work goes through changing speed limits constantly. Everybody travels around 15 over the speed limit. However,

if a cop decides to camp out and nail somebody, I prefer that it not be me. I don't

expect having a radar detector to change my driving habits(you won't see me going 90 on the highway anytime soon), but I also think it makes sense to know that a cop is coming up. I am 35 and have been driving for nearly 20 years. I have 1 speeding ticket. I am not some nutjob in a car, that's for sure.

Driving smartly/safely is the best thing to do though.

Personally.. I would like to see a wi-fi unit that interfaces with GPS AND my laptop... then I'll buy one..

otherwise, just use your head/eyes man... follow a rabbit car when you can

well i heard of building a radar jamer that sends insane speeds back to the cop using a lasar. like 1000 mph. if anyone knows where to get free plans or has plans that they would like to give to me let me know. and by the way i do drive really fast and thats why i want one, so anyone that has a problem with that can sick my duck and quite your *****ing. just cause i drive fast doesnt mean i cant handle what im doing. so deal with it.
