Who knows about RE8's?

Just a quick question. I thought RE didn't make single voice coil subs. Is that true? It seems that I was mailed some RE8's that are single coil. Is that possible, and if yes, how old? Thanks!

I have an RE8 on the way myself. I checked with RE and all the RE8's are 2 ohm SVC's.

They are all SVC 2 ohm. At least i'm pretty sure, unless they changed it for the '04 models they are all SVC 2 ohm.

yep, SVC 2ohm here, but I think they are changing them soon.

Maybe they are showing diff models on their website then. Cool! I'm running a Hifonics ZX8000 5 channel. What is my wiring diagram for the two of them, to run them stable off 1 channel (don't believe amp is 1 ohm stable)

new 8's = dual 4

old 8's = svc 2

old ones.. wire them in series.. 4 ohm

new ones.. series parallel.. 4 ohm
