10 gauge stainless is plenty thick for an amp rack.

Another plus is if you blow them or don't like them, the TC-9 motors can be built into about a million different combos of custom subs.

If you insist on trying to get 500hz out of the sub, look into some pro audio subwoofers. There are some of the pro drivers that will give bass down into the 30's and still play fairly clean up to ~1000hz. Its probably going to have to an enormous enclosure to do it. I think the better option...
