Am I getting ripped off?

got an 01 mustang vert with a mach 460 stereo. I'm trying to overhaul and bought the following:

2 x PG RSD65cs for front and rear

memphis baby belle (4x55W)

eclipse cd7000

knukonceptz amp kit and RCA

I'll need brackets to mount the front woofers(6x8" to 6.5") and front and rear tweeters

Circuit City quoted me $619 for everything and said they have to use they're own wiring, etc. (this certainly jacked up the price)

Tweeter quoted me just under $300 without brackets. Not sure if they can use my wiring.

Questions:

Am i gonna find a price any lower?

Will most shops use my wiring or will i have to buy from them?

How much should it cost to make brackets?

Is there a way for me to make brackets without removing the door panel?

Anyone know of a good installer in the Northern VA/DC metro area?

Thanks for any help!

you're getting screwed.

i wouldn't park my car in the circuit city parking lot, nor would i even let them play with my stereo let alone pull my car apart and try to install something. it's really not that hard, and we can all offer you some good insight on how to properly install a stereo.

that could be the funniest thing ever.. where did you get that animation? wonder if they got one for the "houdini"

anyways.. yeah i figured circuit city was a rip off, but how about Tweeter?

Not to sound like i lack self confidence, but i don't know if i could do it myself (time, experience, electronics expertise, patience, etc.) plus i wouldn't mind a warranty on the work. I could probably save a few bucks and make the mounting brackets for the woofers and tweeters myself though, but can i do this without taking off the door?

I am assuming that since I am removing the entire mach 460 system that I can assume that I can ignore any of the problems associated with messing with that system..and that it'll be like starting from scratch.

Anything worth getting is always worth it more at a steep discount. Not familiar with that unit, but the brand is great.
