I'm having an interesting issue. I have an Orion xtr2400pro from about 2001. It seems to be sensitive to voltage change up near 14.5 volts. When I put signal light on or crank the heater the sudden change in voltage causes the amp to shut off. Comes right back on when signal light is turned off. So with the car turned off this doesn't happen. After I have been driving around playing at full tilt for awhile, the alternators heat up and the voltage drops a bit it gets better. Once it heats up and at idol and I put signal on the amp stays working but rev it up a bit and it shuts off. So it clearly seems to be over voltage to the amp. I have double checked the connections. This started when I installed my second alt. With one alt running it doesn't happen. Can I put a voltage regulator or stabilizer on the cable that runs the car side to help with these spikes? Has anyone seen this happen before?
