so i have this buzz /alternator whine i grounded the rca out puts on back of the headunit and to my surprise it got a tad better if that its so annoying is there any other fixes out there besides buying a new headunit

Without knowing more information, here's what you can do.

  • Run a new ground wire for the head unit to bare metal that connects to the body of the vehicle.
  • Clean the ground connections for the battery. There should be a ground wire going to the body and a ground wire going to the engine.
  • Make sure your amplifier grounds go to clean, bare metal.

Get the idea? Alternator whine is often caused by a poor ground, possibly in multiple places.
