Been out of the sterio shiz for awhile, whats the new hotness?

i want to get some nice speakers for my car, just some 6.5" for front.

whats some powerfull, great quality, crystal clear, minimal distortion, best bang for the buck 6.5" speakers? Budget is around $200 for pair of speakers.

and about $300 for pair of speakers and amp.

right now im rockin stock speakers front and back, and 2 10" Alpine type-r in a .68ft. closed box.

with a JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier

here is a few i'm looking at. tell me what you guys think, and suggest your own.

and i dont really understand speaker specs.

how can a speaker have 400w/100rms watts

and another have 200watts/120rms?

what makes more power? a high power handling watts? or high? rms watts?

and whats DB sensitivity? do i want higher or lower rating?

and hz?? its all going right over my head:confused://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I thought about getting the polk 40 for my setup to.

What would be better to go with guys, Polk 40 speakers or some Infinity bookshelf speakers? Or maybe even The Speaker Company speakers..

iviojorisin you should look into those other brands I mentioned. They are in your price range also. The Speaker Company has a Left,Right and center bookshelf speaker package for 119 & 149.

i actually searched as much as i could and found alot of threads actually debating between ppi and the image dynamics.. couldn't really find any negative feedback from either component speakr..when i thought i did enough research, i ended up purchasing the ppi. then found a new thread yesterday, not really dissing, but just saying the ppi wont be as powerful, and need to be pushed alot harder than the ID to get them to wake up.

most recommend 80rms watts, (its only rated to 60rms watts,) wich just kinda *****, cause the ppi will have toi be pushed alot harder than the ID which ive read sounds great at 80rms yet rated at 100rms.. sounds like they wont get as stressed. but oh well. anyone here with ppi experience? do i really need 80watts per speaker to get these speakers to wake up?
