Break-in

I just got an alpine swr-1242d. THe RMS is 500watts, and the max is 1500watts. I have a kenwood KAC-8152D amp, that pushes 550watts at 2ohm. Would that damage the speakers during the break in period? How long do I need to wait untill i can really crank up the volume?

Just plug it in and play it like you normally would.

No reason to observe any dedicated time as a "break in" period.

The subwoofer will naturally break in over time with regular, normal useage.

You should be good to go. Just make sure you set your gains properly so you don't clip the amp and you will be fine.

I dont wanna soud stupid...but what exactly is the "gain setting" ive heard of it, but never understood it. What does it actaully do, and what should I have it set at?
