I made a ported box for an EVL-12. About a week into having it in my car, I've noticed what seems like a big mistake: I placed the two port cuts backwards, so now the backside of the port is at least an inch wider than the part that comes out of the front of the box.... I hear port noise. It sort of sounds like a plastic grocery bag being blown by air. I've attached a rough picture of how it looks.

How bad is that for my sub? Should I scrap it and build a new box asap?

Having your port width off after the bend will shorten your effective port length (possibly raising tuning) and change volume, but as far as port noise goes it's usually caused by insufficient port area in my experience.

Did you design your own enclosure or use the Skar recommendations?

Don't get me wrong I've built a few boxes myself and I love doing it and it would've been preferred. But I now live in a one bed room apartment...

I would face the port and sub back. Even if you got a soft top, the rear gate will serve as a loading wall. I looked at the specs for the 10w6v3...

Just trim strands until it fits. Then put some heat shrink or electrical tape on it.
