The computer hooks into my amps - which hook into my speakers. It also hooks into a touch-screen monitor in my dash.

Must be nice to have that kind of money.

Don't waste your money on the Linksys wireless/bluetooth.

I got my wireless adapter for $25 from newegg and it works 100000 times better then the wireless linksys adapters we sell at work.

Check my link in the sig to my carputer...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have one, I think its worth it if you can install it yourself.

Nice to see that someone here knows how to do it. I am not very good with all of it. I am not 100% on how the all-in-one computer I am buying will interact with the touchscreen and my speaker system. Is it hooked up something like this? And thanks for the tip on the wireless.

All there is on the touchscreen is a VGA and a usb to the mobo, and power. Power I ran straight back to a molex on the PSU. As for the speakers, I picked up an RCA--->1/8" headphone jack and plugged it into the mobo. Pretty simple to hook it all up.

I did have a problem with a ground loop...which seems very common with carputers. I grabbed a ground loop isolator and that got rid of most of the noise. I'm going to be getting a new sound card though, from what I've heard on board sound cards have a lot of problems with noise as opposed to aftermarket cards. We shall see //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I would love to make a carputer.

The only problem I have with them is the longer boot times vs the navigation systems on the market.

If I could create a fully loaded one that has a boot time of less than 15 sec from a cold start (non-hibernating) than I would go for it.

just search the forums over there. use rca>1/8" phone jack (to the sound car on the mobo). (provided all your speakers are amped).

and there is a way to make boot times less than 20 seconds. just gotta know what programs to take off the bootup process. and all this has been covered over there plenty plenty of times. ;-)

Looks like you could raise the back seat maybe 2 to 2-1/2" use longer seat bolts and washers and frame/mold in the under carriage cavity of that...
