I have a 02 excursion with the factory head unit. I want to get a new headunit, ideally one with a nice screen. Navi would be nice as well. Id like to spend in the 300-450 range. I plan on hooking up two 15's to it and keep the stock speakers (until I save up more money for new ones). I want an external AUX input. Any suggestions?

Head unit 1 output rcas, to 5 channel amp, LOC or 1 set off HU
It would also be easy to add an equalizer to have individual rca inputs for all of the channels. A decent one can be had for less than $40...

Question about connections between head unit (HU), amp, and sub
One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...

Bluetooth only head unit
There are a couple of options. You can use a marine bt unit. They come in the size of a hockey puck and can mount anywhere. This is the marine unit.

There are bluetooth amplifiers. You can just use your phone or an I Pod as the music source and not touch the radio.
