Up for sale is my Diamond Audio D6 600.4 amplifier. Got it off of ebay about a year ago. However it went straight to protect mode when hooked up. Eventually
shipped it off to dB-r Electronics for inspection and repair. The guy there does excellent work (I've had a couple of amps there that have been repaired). It had a blown channel. For those more technically versed in amp repair here is what was done:
Labor:
-Replace 1 Channel Outputs
-Reset Bias
-Load Test
Parts:
(4) - Outputs TIP35C/36C (output transistors)
-new heatsink insulator material and compound
Was about $100 even to fix.
It's a very nice amp, well built, very clean sounding. dB-r likened it to the Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 in both performance and build. I'd prefer to use
this amp over the others I am using, but size constraints limit me from doing so.
Cosmetically I'd give it 8/10. The only main cosmetic flaw is on the bottom panel - there are a few scratches (see pic). Otherwise it's in very nice shape.
(Pardon the smudges in the pics, I didn't wipe it down before I took them)
Mechanically it's as good as new. I ran it for a few days after I received it back w/o issue.
Prices on these new:
Approx $450 - $550 authorized ($455.99 - woofersetc)
Usually in the ballpark of $300 or so new on ebay.
I payed around $160 used on ebay (which I thought was low, now I know why), then another $100 to get it repaired.
If anybody is interested:
