Nice! Would you post a picture? No. It’s the 13,500. I ordered the 5000.1 but they sent me the wrong amp. I called them trying to do the right thing and they gave me the option to return it for the correct amp or keep it. So I kept it and I have it throttled way back.
That’s is something I need to do. I did try and my meter refused to cooperate. I have an Amprobe. It’s a decent unit but it didn’t cooperate. I took it back to work. I need to invest in one for the house. You said that you are monitoring the voltage from the cigarette lighter socket. Have you checked the voltage at the amplifier terminal while you are playing it loud?
Correct. Spot on.Sounds like they sent him the SFB 13,500 instead of the SFB 5,000
One cannot even tell a full size battery is under there, nice touch. I love the look of big surfboard amps. In yesteryear that amp would probably be a 2kW amp!. I put that carpet over the wood and mounted the amps on it.
Aside from setting the gain low, you can also wire the subs to a higher resistance.curious how the gains were set?
Around 40%. I did not use any tool of measurement to set the gains. The 2015 pilot didn’t give me option much for a aftermarket stereo so I kept the factory stereo and installed the JL fix 86 processor. I did let an audio shop handle the tuning of that.curious how the gains were set?
Very Nice and clean install. I like it!!!!Here is a picture of the back setup. The XS D7500 Battery along with distribution and such are mounted under the wood I cut out. I put that carpet over the wood and mounted the amps on it.

As for right now I’m finished. If I do anything else it will be something added to my front stage. I wouldn’t mind brightening that up some but I’m not sure how yet or what route I’d like to go. I’m not disappointed with the C3 performance but I think I want a little more umpf up front. The goal is to be able to play pretty loud without distortion. The ultimate goal would be to accomplish serious SQ while also being at a high listening level.Hey thanks for the kind words. The subwoofers are Sundown X12’s V3 D2, wired to a 2ohm load to the Sundown 13,500/1 Monoblock amplifier. The gain is set around 40%. The enclosure is stage 3 dual ported mdf. I went for an in between kind of thing. What I mean is all types of music still sounds pretty good, but if I want to crank up the bass some to get that old school loud bass going I can. The small amplifier is a 4 channel alpine PDX 4.150. It supplies 2 sets of JL Audio 6.5 C3’s.
